Cutting out the mold template, which will be used as a counter-mold (dual mold technique) Selection of the wood, this one comes from Carpathia (Romania) Top out of spruce, very tight grain, rings like a bell, and nice curly maple for the back. All AAA grade. After the counter mold has been shaped, it is used as a template for rough cutting the 30 mm MDF main mold piece. The counter mold is screwed to the mold and is used to contour the mold, using a copying router bit. The holes in the mold are then drilled. The doted line holes are drilled in the mold, but not in the counter mold, they will be used to push this one out. Notice the groove between mold and counter mold. It is cut to leave room for the back lining, which is more than 8mm tall. All contents under Creative Commons BY-NC-SA license. Say Something Older readers comments
