Sautivet style pepper mill
A pepper mill that looks like a bagpipe from Central France
A new creation, unusual, I hope…
Is this a bagpipe?
No ! It’s a pepper mill!
It’s a little nod to the work of @Raph jeannin which I greatly admire, in particular his wonderful bagpipes engraved with ‘Sautivet’ designs.
I was inspired by one of his models, taken from the famous Berry pipe-maker Jean Sautivet who created these engraved patterns in the 19th century.
The body is in cherry, the rings in Macassar ebony, the button in ebony and mother-of-pearl. The mechanism comes from HM diffusion.
